FootyBets.aiFantasy Gold: Gawn and the Dees Ready to Feast on the Eagles at Docklands
Sunday footy on May 10, 2026, takes us under the roof at Docklands where Melbourne looks primed to dismantle the West Coast Eagles. In what shapes up as a fast-paced, high-scoring affair, the Demons are tipped to dominate possession, though a few resilient Eagles ball-magnets will fight hard to keep the scoreboard respectable. Expect plenty of pill to be won through the middle as the Dees flex their muscles.
Our FootyBets.ai algorithm has crunched the numbers, and the optimal builds are heavily backing the red and blue. Here are the core players locking down our lineups:
- Max Gawn (MEL): Big Maxy appears in 100% of our optimal lineups with a slate-breaking projection of 126.6 points. He’ll dominate the hit-outs, float back for intercept clunks, and rack up easy disposals around the ground.
- Jack Steele (MEL): The Demons' midfield bull is another 100% lock. Steele is an absolute tackling machine who will feast on contested ball and clearances, giving him an incredibly safe floor and a massive ceiling.
- Kysaiah Pickett (MEL): Kozzie (80% exposure) is bringing the X-factor. Pushing up into the midfield to win the footy and drifting forward to kick multiple snags, his dual-threat ability means massive fantasy points.
- Paddy Cross & Bailey Laurie (MEL): This Demons forward duo sits in 100% of optimal builds. They are perfectly positioned to capitalize on a lopsided inside-50 count, racking up marks on the lead and goals.
Positional Quick Tips
- RUC: Set and forget Max Gawn. Don't overthink it; he is projected to outscore everyone else on the park by a mile.
- DEF: Look West to absorb the pressure. Tom Cole and Liam Duggan will rack up plenty of cheap kicks and uncontested marks rebounding out of defensive 50.
- MID: Lock in Jack Steele for pure tackle volume and Tim Kelly as your primary Eagles ball-winner to balance the midfield.
- FWD: Anchor your forward line with Melbourne's Paddy Cross and Bailey Laurie to ensure you get a slice of the Demons' scoring action.
