Friday Night Fireworks: DraftStars Preview for Pies vs Giants

Friday night footy under the roof at Docklands! Collingwood and GWS lock horns in a massive March 2026 blockbuster that promises plenty of daily fantasy fireworks. With a fast deck expected and some fascinating new faces in fresh colours, this is a matchup ripe for massive disposal counts and end-to-end scoring.

Our FootyBets.ai supercomputer has crunched the numbers, and a few key names are standing out as absolute DraftStars locks to anchor your builds:

Darcy Cameron (Collingwood): Appearing in 100% of our optimal builds, Cameron (projected 102.2 pts) is primed to feast. Expect him to dominate the hitouts while dropping back to clunk plenty of lucrative +3 intercept marks.

Lachie Whitfield (GWS Giants): Also a flawless 10/10 lock. Whitfield (107.8 pts) is the uncontested king of daily fantasy. On the fast Docklands turf, the Giants will look to him to quarterback the play, meaning he’ll rack up +6 marks and cheap disposals all night long.

Harry Perryman (Collingwood): The ultimate revenge game against his old mob! Landing in 90% of lineups, Perryman’s gut-running and two-way accountability will guarantee a healthy floor of bone-crunching tackles and link-up disposals.

Clayton Oliver (GWS Giants): Clarry in charcoal and orange is a scary prospect. Featuring in 7/10 lineups, the contested beast will pad your stats with heavy clearance numbers, inside ball-winning, and repeat tackles.

Harvey Thomas (GWS Giants): Don't sleep on the young forward. He features in 90% of our optimal builds because his manic forward-half pressure brings a vital mix of tackles and scoreboard impact.

Position-by-Position Quick Tips

• RUC: Set and forget Darcy Cameron. He has the aerial craft and stoppage presence to completely break the slate.
• DEF: Lachie Whitfield is your premium anchor, but consider pairing him with Brayden Maynard for reliable Magpie rebound and kick-ins.
• MID: Veteran smarts rule the engine room. Target Steele Sidebottom and Clayton Oliver for high-volume disposals and inside-and-out coverage.
• FWD: Look for pressure and class. Harvey Thomas will bring the heat with tackles and goals, while Scott Pendlebury gives you premium midfield scoring tucked away in a forward slot.
