Friday Night Fireworks: Cats vs Blues DFS Targets at the ‘G

Geelong and Carlton under lights at the M.C.G. screams pressure footy and fantasy points. Expect the Cats’ ball movement to test Carlton’s structure, while the Blues lean on contested wins and forward craft to stay in it.

DFS core — why these five keep popping: - Max Holmes (MID, 10/10): Geelong’s metronome. Expect 25+ touches, overlap run, and a stack of uncontested marks to build a massive floor with ceiling via score involvements. - Oliver Dempsey (MID, 10/10): Has become a damaging link in Geelong’s chain. Marks on the spread plus shots on goal make him a dual-threat scorer. - Tom Atkins (MID, 10/10): Tackle magnet. His inside work adds clearances to that tackle base, giving him one of the safer floors on the slate. - Gryan Miers (FWD, 10/10): The ultimate half-forward connector. High mark count, repeat entries and goal assists keep him scoring even without big goal totals. - Harry McKay (RUC, 10/10): Projects as a ruck/forward difference-maker. Hitouts to advantage and contested grabs inside 50 can stack fast, especially if the Blues surge.

Position-by-position quick tips: - RUC: Harry McKay is the chalk anchor. If you want leverage, Marc Pittonet offers a contrarian pivot with similar projection upside in a grind. - DEF: Tom Stewart’s intercept marking screams reliability; Lawson Humphries brings run-and-carry upside. Zach Guthrie is your steady accumulator if you’re smoothing builds. - MID: Start with Max Holmes, then add ceiling via Bailey Smith’s burst game. Round out with Oliver Dempsey’s outside pop and Tom Atkins’ tackle-heavy safety. - FWD: Gryan Miers is the preferred core. For volatility and leverage, Brodie Kemp’s contested targets and Oliver Henry’s goal spike can swing GPPs.
