FootyBets.aiCats vs Saints: AI Lock-Ins and Kardinia Park Cash Cows
Thursday night footy heads to the Cattery as Geelong hosts St Kilda under the lid at GMHBA Stadium. The narrow confines of Kardinia Park always make for a high-intensity, contested clash where local knowledge is king. Expect a tactical battle, but there's plenty of fantasy gold to be mined on the tight deck.
Our AI has crunched the numbers, and these four stars are locked into almost every optimal lineup:
- Max Holmes (MID | Projected: 117.4 pts): Appearing in 10/10 lineups, Holmes is the engine room choice. His explosive pace on this tight ground translates to massive disposal numbers, inside 50s, and uncontested marks as the Cats transition fast.
- Tom Stewart (DEF | Projected: 84.2 pts): The intercept king is another perfect 10/10 lock. Stewart owns the Geelong defensive arc, and his ability to read the ball, rack up intercept marks, and take kick-ins makes him a safe fantasy floor.
- Jhye Clark (FWD | Projected: 52.1 pts): A unanimous selection across all optimal lineups. Clark provides crucial balance, doing the dirty work with relentless tackling pressure and handy link-up possessions through the arc.
- Rowan Marshall (RUC | Projected: 97.1 pts): The Saints' premier big man features in 9/10 lineups. Marshall essentially plays as an extra midfielder, stuffing the stat sheet with hitouts, clearances, and defensive grabs.
Quick Position Tips
- RUC: Rowan Marshall is the clear priority. He dominates the ground game and should outwork the Cats' ruck setup.
- DEF: Bradley Hill (Projected: 110.7 pts). His run-and-carry will be vital for the Saints to break Geelong's press. A massive ceiling if he gets loose.
- MID: Oliver Dempsey (Projected: 86.8 pts). Fast becoming a fantasy favorite, Dempsey’s wing work and eye for goal make him a brilliant midfield option.
- FWD: Shaun Mannagh (Projected: 81.4 pts). He knows how to hit the scoreboard and brings elite forward-half pressure.
