A blockbuster Friday night clash awaits at the SCG as the high-flying Sydney Swans host the gritty Western Bulldogs. Expect a fierce contested battle on the tight SCG deck, making this matchup an absolute fantasy goldmine. Our FootyBets.ai algorithm has crunched the numbers to find where the statistical edge lies for this week’s DraftStars contests.
The Key Pillars
- Brodie Grundy (Sydney, RUC - Proj: 123.0): The premier ruckman is a total lock, appearing in 10/10 of our optimal lineups. Expect Grundy to dominate the hit-outs, while acting as an extra midfielder with high clearance and tackle numbers.
- Matthew Kennedy & Tom Liberatore (Western Bulldogs, MID - Proj: 101.6 & 100.5): This Bulldogs duo is set to feast in the trenches. Libba’s relentless pressure and clearance work combined with Kennedy’s contested ball-winning and marking ability make them essential core plays.
- Jai Serong (Sydney, DEF - Proj: 76.9): Locking down a spot in 90% of our optimal lineups, Serong is primed for a busy night. His intercept marking and rebound distribution will be crucial in stopping the Dogs' inside-50 entries.
- Caiden Cleary (Sydney, FWD - Proj: 59.3): Emerging as a crucial connector in 9/10 lineups, Cleary’s high-energy pressure acts and tackle floor make him the perfect pick to round out your forward line.
Position-by-Position Quick Tips
- Ruck: Don't overthink it. Brodie Grundy is a must-have anchor for your lineups this week.
- Defender: Pair the veteran spoils of Dane Rampe (Proj: 59.9) with the run-and-carry of Bailey Dale (Proj: 103.0) for a perfect mix of floor and ceiling.
- Midfield: Lock in the Dogs' engine room. Ed Richards (Proj: 110.2) is in red-hot form and offers massive scoring potential alongside Liberatore.
- Forward: Look to Jake Lloyd (Proj: 72.4) for reliable kick-to-handball ratios, or punt on Joel Freijah (Proj: 81.1) for unique goal-scoring upside.
