FootyBets.aiAFL Round 12 Sunday DraftStars: Reid & Pickett Ready to Rip
The Round 12 Sunday slate serves up a spicy two-game menu, kicking off with the Eagles hosting the Bombers at a raucous Perth Stadium before we head up to the Red Centre for a gritty clash between Melbourne and GWS at Traeger Park. With plenty of midfield bulls and dynamic goal-sneaks on display, cashing in on today's DraftStars contests is all about nailing those high-upside ceiling plays.
Our FootyBets.ai algorithm has crunched the numbers. Here are the core players dominating the optimal builds:
Harley Reid (MID) & Kysaiah Pickett (FWD) Locked into 100% of our optimal lineups, this duo is primed to dominate. Reid is projected for a massive 93.6 points and should absolutely feast on contested ball and clearances in front of his home crowd. Meanwhile, "Kozzie" Pickett (94.3 projected) is heavily backed to go huge up forward against the Giants at Traeger Park, bringing elite tackling numbers and serious scoreboard impact.
Ben McKay (DEF) The ultimate defensive anchor. McKay appears in every single optimal build today. While he might not break the ton, his projected 62.8 points offer incredibly reliable intercept-marking stability as he reads the play across half-back.
Darcy Parish (MID) Featuring in 90% of optimal builds, Parish boasts a massive 97.5 projection. He's an absolute ball-magnet who will gather touches at will around the stoppages in Perth. Lock him in as a high-floor, high-ceiling play.
Liam Duggan (DEF) Duggan lands in 9 of our top 10 lineups with a juicy 90.6 projection. The bloke loves a +6 (kick and mark) across half-back and will act as the prime distributor for West Coast all afternoon.
Jack Williams (RUC) Our AI loves the Eagles big man today. Landing in 90% of builds, Williams is projected for a solid 58.0 points. He provides the perfect structure to your lineup, grinding out hit-outs and follow-up tackles without fuss.
Position-by-Position Quick Tips
- DEF: Don't overthink it. Anchor your backline with the safety of Ben McKay, then chase the ceiling with Liam Duggan's precise rebounding.
- MID: It's a complete goldmine. Darcy Parish and Harley Reid are the core building blocks, but don't sleep on GWS run-and-gunner Lachie Ash—he boasts a slate-high 104.2 projection and is a brilliant pivot.
- RUC: Jack Williams is the clear AI favourite to do the heavy lifting, but if you want to zig when others zag, GWS's Leek Aleer offers a sneaky point-of-difference.
- FWD: Build your forward line around Kysaiah Pickett’s massive ceiling. If you need a secondary punch, Elliot Yeo’s midfield minutes give him tremendous forward-eligible value today.
