Lions Look Lethal at the Gabba: DraftStars DFS Preview

The Gabba lights up this Saturday, 30 May 2026, as the Brisbane Lions prepare to ambush Fremantle on their home turf. The Lions are notorious for turning up the heat in Queensland, meaning there's a mountain of fantasy points up for grabs for the home side, while the Dockers face a massive uphill battle to stay in the contest.

Our FootyBets.ai optimiser is heavily backing a Brisbane midfield domination, with four Lions completely locking down the top optimal builds:

• Lachie Neale (MID): Death, taxes, and Lachie Neale racking up the footy. Projected for a massive 104 points, expect him to run riot against his old mob with 30+ disposals and a mountain of clearances.
• Josh Dunkley (MID): The ultimate DraftStars safety blanket. Dunkley brings an elite tackling floor, stuffing the stat sheet in the clinches to guarantee solid points even if he isn't finding open space.
• Jarrod Berry (MID): Sweeping 100% of our top builds, Berry is primed to feast on the outside. Look for him to link up through the middle, racking up uncontested marks and inside-50 entries.
• Sam Draper (RUC): The big recruit has found a home in the Sunshine State. Draper is universally featured in our optimal builds, ready to bully his way to a heap of hit-outs, clearances, and crucial contested grabs around the ground.

Position-by-Position Quick Tips

• RUC: Set and forget Sam Draper. He has the number one ruck mantle locked down for this slate and provides massive upside.
• DEF: Target the Lions' half-back distributors. Jaspa Fletcher and Darcy Wilmot will look to control the tempo, sharing plenty of cheap +3 uncontested marks across the defensive 50.
• MID: Stack the Brisbane engine room. Alongside Neale and Dunkley, Zac Bailey is a fantastic play to hit the scoreboard from the midfield.
• FWD: Fremantle’s Mason Cox is popping in 80% of our builds. He’s a massive target inside 50 for the Dockers and only needs a couple of big clunks and snags to pay off his selection, while Cam Rayner offers explosive upside for Brisbane.
