Match Review

Essendon's midfield trio completely controlled the game. Merrett and McGrath amassed disposal numbers that were huge for the 2020 season context (30+ was rare), locking them into the top two spots. Shiel takes the final vote as the next most impactful midfielder in the win, fitting the pattern that umpires overwhelmingly favour winning midfielders.
